Shepperton based broadcast hire company, The Hiring Post, continued its relationship with BBC Post Production Birmingham by supporting the production and transmission of Autumwatch 2009, the broadcaster’s popular bi-annual, live nature series. This was the second year that The Hiring Post has supplied equipment for both the Autumwatch and Springwatch programmes.

Autumn Watch, which aired daily on BBC Two from 27th October to 7th November, 2009 broadcasting live coverage from Brownsea Island near Poole, Dorset. This new location was a haven for wildlife and promises to deliver spectacular footage to nature lovers.

The post production kit provided by The Hiring Post included an Avid Unity MediaNetwork with 8TB of storage, four Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems and two Avid Airspeed multi-purpose media platforms. The system, which was  pre-built and delivered by The Hiring Post to the Brownsea Island site, also includes an Intel database server, Avid Command playout server and a number of Digi Betas and DVCAM VTRs.

The Hiring Post provided on-site technical support for the whole of the Avid workflow technology.
